What We're Loving in July

Timber dining chairs

As winter sets in, we're turning inward - cue a new podcast obsession, a European escape, and a few things we’ve been quietly working on.

beach, timber dining chairs

Rachel | Founder & Creative Director

July school holidays has meant Bali for my family for a few years now. Call me boring, but it's just the easiest, most relaxing break and I am so looking forward to doing it again this year. I hope to do very little aside from laying by the pool and eating good food!

I’m listening out for book recommendations now in the lead up, I probably get 90% of my yearly book intake done in these 2 weeks over the winter holidays. I’ve been listening to Emma Grede’s new podcast ‘Aspire and recommend it to anyone who has big dreams for themselves. Her stories and the people she chooses to interview on the podcast are endlessly inspiring and motivating - this podcast is my current go to for any extended time in the car.

I am impatiently waiting for August as we are launching our hero collection of the year - we have been working on this collection for the past 18 months and seeing the imagery from our campaign shoots come to life has been a real pinch me moment. The new collection feels like RD has grown up. Its a new era for our brand of insanely beautiful, masterfully crafted pieces for the forever home. Its taken every ounce of self control to not post a sneaky early photo to socials...

I'm very envious of my colleagues & their warm weather escapes, so I'm trying my best to romanticise these cooler days! An oversized, warm scarf is the perfect way to elevate any winter outfit. The Lottie Scarf from Elka Collective is top of my wishlist...

I've had my eye on the Senne Mirror since we launched it last year. It's the perfect timeless piece that works so well in any space (Powder room? Tick. Above a Mantle? Tick. Above a Console? Tick.).

I love every Merit Beauty. Their branding & product is always so chic & considered & the quality is unbelievable. I had been on the hunt for a new tinted moisturiser for a while, so when I saw they launched The Uniform, I ordered immediately!

Counter stool, store hat and Greek Beach

Holly | Customer Experience Lead

I'm spending July soaking up the sun in Europe - so by the time you're reading this, there's a good chance I'm lying on a beach in Greece. We're in Zakynthos for my cousin's wedding and have a few adventures planned - including a boat trip to the iconic Navagio Beach. I cannot wait!

I love a good straw hat, and the Raffia Cowboy Hat from Lack of Color is ticking all the boxes. It’s lightweight, effortlessly cool (am I cool yet?!), and gives just the right amount of shade - ideal for beach days and market strolls.

My RD product love for the month is our new Matisse Counter Stool. Sculptural and striking, it's the kind of piece that transforms a kitchen into a conversation. I love the natural rush seat paired with the carved oak legs - equal parts grounded and elevated.

stripe bedding

Mikayla | Content Creator

Stripes have quietly taken over my bathroom, my bedding, my wardrobe… even my tea towels. Right now, the piece at the top of my list is the Percale Bedding in Hopper Stripes from Telka. It’s effortlessly stylish and comfortable, and these stripes! Let’s just say they’ve officially taken over my life and I’m totally obsessed.

My current RD favourite? The Tautou Ottoman. It’s ridiculously versatile no matter where you place it, it just looks incredible. I’ve been dreaming up ways to style it as a bedside table because there’s something so satisfying about taking a piece designed for one purpose and giving it a whole new life.

Speaking of giving things a whole new life, after recently moving, I’ve dived headfirst into sourcing second hand pieces, hunting for those unique, one-off finds. There’s something about vintage treasures that just can’t be replicated, and I’ve quickly realised these are always my most asked about pieces. Right now, I’m on the hunt for unique mugs and I’m still kicking myself for leaving these hexagon-shaped ones behind at a store in Fitzroy.
